Science night at HMSCongratulations to Mrs. Wagonmaker! The first science night of the 08/09 school year was a huge success. The entire community was invited to experience an exciting multimedia presentation called Bats of the World.
Have you ever been face to face with a live bat? What an awesome sight. Our presenter for the evening was Dale from the Organization for Bat Conservation. Dale entertained us with an educational slide show presentation which touched on the topics of sound waves, ecosystems, food webs, and conservation. We were then treated to a wide variety of live bats including large fruit bats from around the world, and smaller micro bats from North America.
