Published Authors in Holton Middle School

 

     With great enthusiasm, I would like to share with the entire community that Holton Middle School now has three published authors in their student body.  To be a published author is a huge accomplishment and the entire Middle School staff would like to congratulate each of these very successful young ladies.

 

     Katie Dekker took the initiative to enter a prestigious international poetry contest, through The International Library of Poetry.  Her poem was chosen from among thousands of others to be the first page of the book Collected Whispers by Howard Ely.  Katie has her own autographed hard cover copy of this wonderful selection of poetry.

 

     Ashley Latsch and Morgan Sundberg each has a poem published in A Football Factory by Jay VandeVoorde and Drew Payment.  The book highlights the rich history of football in the Muskegon area.  The girls were each invited to a book signing by the author, which was also attended by Muskegon area sports figures.

 

     Again, congratulations go out to each of these hard working and successful eighth grade ladies!
