At Holton Middle School, we take literacy seriously, and work to improve literacy across all subjects.  RtI is often referred to as "Response to Intervention."  This, however, does not recognize that the most important component of the RtI Framework is the General Education Classroom...Instruction precedes Intervention.   

While each of the components will be summarized within our site, we would like to give the Classroom its place of importance within the framework (and representatively, on our site).  Our classrooms are where success is created and encouraged; they are the places where students receive evidence-based instruction from teachers who are experts in their field.  They are also the places where futures are founded, and background knowledge formed for further educational endeavors.
