Social WorkThe HMS social work office is commited to serving ALL students, whether general or special education. We provide a wide-range of counseling and advocacy services during the school week including: * Counseling topics include school-related issues, divorce, grief and loss, bullying, cutting and suicidal tendencies, peer and sibling issues. * Referrals to outside counseling for more indepth issuesconcerning students * Linkage to outside resources that support children and adults
BullyingMiddle school can be a rough time emotionally for students and during these grade levels comes a lot of bullying. Here at Holton Middle School, we try to take the time to support positive behaviors in and out of the classroom and it is very important to all of the staff to report bullying. Students need to feel comfortable reporting that they are victims of bullying at school. Everything from verbal to physical to sexual harrasment is viewed as bullying and is not tolerated and those committing the offense will be dealt with. We strongly believe that our parents will take the appropriate steps to teach their children exceptable behaviors that follow their child into our school. Hello, my name is Kate Krieger and I'm the Holton Middle School Social Worker. I have a B.S. degree in journalism and a Master's degree in social work, both from Grand Valley State University. I grew up and graduated from Ludington High School and I throughly enjoy my time spent with the students and staff at Holton Middle School.
